Parents and Students,

Please be aware that the uniform portable will be open from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm tonight, January 22nd, for any marching band items that need to be returned. Mrs. Smith will be available at that time if you need anything.

Here is a list of things we are looking for.

· Ponchos

· Shakos

· Gauntlets

· Whole marching uniforms?!

We’ll be sending out a list soon with those who need to return any items. Please be proactive and do what we can tonight.

Next, the Pot-luck & Lock-In will start at 7:00pm! This is not a mandatory event, but we’d love to see everyone there as we start the new semester. Food can be dropped off before 7:00pm in the cafeteria. Please make sure food is PEANUT FREE and can be enjoyed by everyone! Student leadership has requested that we stay away from pizza if possible. The night will start with a welcome video by our KC Band Leadership Team in the auditorium, followed by dinner and the directors getting a pie in the face in the cafeteria!

Below is a list of items each section is responsible to bring for the Lock-In.

· Woodwinds – Chips and Crackers

· Brass and Percussion – Desserts

· Color Guard – Soda

Last, with the start of the new semester, please make sure students are still thinking about their grades, as we get closer to UIL Concert & Sightreading. All students need to be passing in order to perform and participate on stage.

Also, please be checking the band calendar, as we get closer to summer. Marching band activities start showing up in May, as we get ready for UIL State Marching next year.
