Ultimate Drill Book: Marching Band

We're excited to announce we'll be implementing a new learning process to our drill for marching band this year! Last year we introduced a new printable dot books with very detailed information that were helpful in our learning and cleaning success. This year, that option has turned digital due software updates to save paper and time for band programs, so an application has be developed to provide this information in a digital format, UDBapp (Ultimate Drill Book App).

UDBapp is FREE for to download and will work on any IOS and Android device. More information my be found here: http://ultimatedrillbook.com/udbapp/

Below are to tutorials on how the app works.

Students will also be asked to still fill out a traditional dot book as well. This will serve as a backup and also enhance the learning process by writing down their personal coordinates. Please make sure students have everything below for next week.

Needs for Monday, August 7:

  1. Oxford Spiral Bound 3 X 5 Index Cards
  2. Shoe lace
  3. UDBapp on phone or other device. (We'll be able to work with students who can't get this on their phone or other IOS/Android device)

Hearing Protection Program

Marching band is loud. It's that simple.

Hearing protection is very important for any musician, but especially for those who perform with high energy at a high volume! That being said, all musicians eventually find themselves in a musical situation where standard "earplugs" just don't allow us to hear all the things we NEED to hear in order to play at our best.

KC Percussion has partnered with Earasers, the world's first affordable "Hi-Fi" earplugs for musicians in order to give our musicians the chance to perform at the highest levels and protect their hearing at the same time.

High exposure to loud volumes can cause permanent hearing loss. HEARING PROTECTION IS NO JOKE!!!

See how you can get on board with the hearing protection program below!

Summer Band Camp Lunch

Band Families,

Your KCHS Boosters are excited to offer and bring lunches to the bandos (kids) during summer band camp weeks!

The form was sent home the last two Tuesday Night Bands. This is an opportunity to have lunch delivered during the two weeks of band camp. Sometimes it's difficult to send lunch with the kids or to run something up each day so we thought this would make it easier for our band families. These meals are a sandwich and chips or pizza.

  • Chick-fil-A includes: Chick-fil-A Sandwich and chips
  • Subway includes: Ham Sandwich and chips
  • Pizza: 2 slices of Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza
  • McDonald's Burger includes: 2 Cheeseburgers and small fries
  • Chicken Express includes: Chicken Fingers

We will need to order the meals ahead of time to be able to get them and deliver on time so the order and money are due on tomorrow, Tuesday the 25th, at Tuesday Night Band. Please send cash or checks.

If you do not have a form, they will be provided tomorrow at Tuesday night band by the KCHS Band Boosters.
